The Mahabharata is a more accurate representation of the world's political, social, and cultural environment. Several languages have been translated over the last century. Furthermore, numerous literary works have been influenced by little situations and anecdotes. Dharamvir Bharati's play Andha Yug is one of several literary works inspired by the Mahabharata. Andha Yug, published in 1953, could be considered a seminal post-independence play. It is a watershed moment in Indian theatrical history. Written only a few years after the Partition, it reflects on the tough time of the Holocaust that claimed countless lives. The play draws attention to this fact.
